Venu

With Venu scrapped before launch, Fox, Disney, and WBD are figuring out their own paths for live sports streaming, each focusing on their own platforms. Earlier this year, the three companies announced a new streaming bundle featuring 16 live sports channels and no non-sports content, making it a dream for sports fans.

The project was stopped due to its high cost and legal problems, even though there were plans to start it before the 2024 NFL season. Now, each firm is doing its own thing. Reports say Venu Sports will still open in August 2024, at a monthly cost of $42.99. The service will likely have things like Multi-View and DVR.

Disney is pushing forward with a standalone ESPN app, WBD is folding sports into Max at no extra cost, and Fox is launching its own sports and news platform. A recent leak even revealed that the developers once referred to Venu as "XO Sports" before settling on its final name.

Fox plans to roll out its streaming service by year’s end, stepping into the market as cord-cutting rises and competition for subscribers heats up. With different strategies in play, each company is betting on its approach to attract sports fans.
